COVID-19 claims Ooni’s in-law in Brazil

A man identified as brother-in-law to the Ooni of Ife ,Babafemi Olorunfemi have died from complications linked to COVID-19 in Sao Paulo, Brazil.
The pandemic has also claimed the life of another Nigerian from Abia state,Ibe Martins,aka Prince.

Married to Princess Adedoja Ogunwusi, the In-law Olorunfemi,reportedly came to Brazil last year to settle down with his wife and two children.

He died during a 2-week battle with the novel Coronavirus at a hospital in the Latin American country. Brazil has recorded over 12, 000 deaths and more than 170, 000 infections from the virus.

The Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, has been on the frontline in the battle against Coronavirus in Nigeria where he had supported some state governments in the country with ventilators and equipments to fumigate the environment.

The second victim,Martin ,it was gathered has lived in Brazil for 15 years.
As Nigerians in Brazil cry for intervention from their home country, several groups in Brazil are rising to the occasion with voluntary donations. They included the Nigerian Community in Brazil, the Egbe Omo Oodua in Brazil, and the Nigerians in Diaspora Organisation, Brazil chapter.
