COVID-19: Anxiety over spread as customers, commuters besiege banks, bust stops

Fears of possible hike in the number of infections heightened Monday morning as many Nigerians trooped out after the lockdown was relaxed.

Newdawn Reports gathered across Lagos, Abuja,Abeokuta in Ogun state especially that as early as 7:30am, many bank branches had been filled up with customers who were out to do one thing or another.
Besides,ATMs of most of the banks are jampacked with anxious customers crowded together to make withdrawals.

Worrisome to many is the fact that observing the social distancing protocols has become a mirage as many crowded together.

The same situation obtains at bus stops in Lagos as commuters raced to join buses to their destinations.
