In a bid to assist in curbing the spread of the novel global COVID-19 pandemic, Corps members in the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) Garment Factory in Minna, Niger State Capital, have donated face masks to Niger State Government.
The items were presented to the state government by the corps members.
The NYSC State Coordinator, Mrs. Funmilayo Ajayi said the masks were produced by the corps members as part of their contributions to the state governments’ efforts at combating and containing the spread of the virus in the state.
Receiving the items on behalf of the government, the Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development, Hon. Emmanuel Umar, expressed appreciation to the corps members for their show of concern, adding that their contribution would go a long way in the fight against the Coronavirus pandemic currently ravaging the world.
The NYSC Garment Factory Manager, Mr. Moses Aluyor who was represented by Mr. Bala Mohammed, revealed that the face masks donated were produced by the corps members trained in the factory.
Earlier, the Niger State NYSC had donated locally made hand sanitizer and hand wash by corps members to the state Task Force on COVID-19 as part of it’s contribution to the fight against the deadly virus.
