The sleeping and serene town of Ogbodu in Iseleuku, Delta State may have been trigered into turmoil on account of the rape of a physically challenged 15-year-od girl by a relation as all efforts are being made to forestall police handling of the matter.
The victim (name withheld), a JSS-3 student, was a prey to 50-year-old self-styled Ambassador whose name was given as Samuel Ifeanyi Nkosenyen, said to have been in the habit of defiling minors in the neighbourhood.
While the victim’s father was said to be crying for justice, our reporter learnt that there has been high-wire act by some influential persons in Ugbodu to prevent the matter from being attended to by the police.
Samuel, described by some members of the Ugbodu Kingdom in Aniocha North Local Government Area as a serial rapist, having been involved in sexually abusing about six minors, was this time around caught in the act by some youths of the community who swiftly mobilised to arrest him and take him to the police, only for one Professor Nduka, to stop both the villagers and the victim’s parents from going to the police.
