Says, our sins has imprisoned us
The Osile of Oke-Ona Egba in Ogun State, Oba (Dr) Adedapo Tejuoso, has called on the Federal Government to declare a national day of prayer to end the coronavirus ravaging the country.
The traditional ruler made the call while kicking off the distribution of food items as palliatives to his subjects at his residence in Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital, on Wednesday, saying “our sins and stubbornness to God brought us to this precarious situation.
He noted all Nigerians, irrespective of religious affiliations, must dedicate a day of prayer to seek the face of God for intervention in order to win the war against the disease.
“We are all in COVID-19 prison, but God will set us free. What brought us all here is our stubbornness to God. Our sins brought us to this precarious situation. I know God is watching us from heaven and saying He has been warning us for a long time but we didn’t listen.
“Nobody can save us from this prison except God. The biggest prison ever is lockdown caused by COVID-19. The entire world has now become a prison yard and all of us are under house arrest.
“God has told us what to do. He said, if my people who are called by my name should call on me, humble themselves, pray and seek my face, He will look down on us and have mercy on us, He will hearken to our voice and heal our land. This is not difficult for us to do.
“Our leaders should declare a national day of prayer. As a nation, irrespective of our religious affiliation, we should all come together for a day to pray, praise God and seek God’s face in our different religions, God will hear us and answer our prayers. But our stubbornness has brought us to this situation,” he added.
