COVID-19: Nigerians in China cry out over threat to life

A member of the Nigerians in the Diaspora resident in Sierra Leone,Pastor (Mrs)Justin’s Opene,have cried out to the authorities over threat to life of students living in Guangzhou,a city in the country.
According to her, the Chinese Police ask all Black Students & all blacks to run the Corona Virus test, whether they travel out or not.
She said the blacks after much talk did the test and were negative.
In spite of this,she said they removed all blacks from their apartments which they have paid for put them in hostels & ask the blacks to pay for themselves. She said that in the hostels the authorities gave them little or no food & water after which they asked all blacks should leave their country.
She told Newdawnngr that her son with whom she spoke earlier today told her the students who are legal residents are under serious threats to their life and appeal to Nigerian authorities to do something to protect life of the students.
In a text message,Director General of the Diaspora Commission,Honourable Abike Dabiri-Erewa said the commission is yet to be briefed about the incident but asked our reporter to contact, Mr Lawal, the Nigeria head of Chancery in China for the situation of things.
However,the later could not be reached as at the time of this report.
It will be recalled that video clips showing the Chinese police authorities manhandling of residents and students in the country have gone viral in the past few days.
