The Outreach does NOT include treatment of already diagnosed illnesses. Those who need more detailed medical consultation or other laboratory investigations or further follow-up and treatment are required to go to the mass medical mission House (31 Bode Thomas St, Surulere, Lagos) or any other well-equipped health institution of their choice.
You may apply to be included as a host in the roster of the free health Missions. Your role as the host is as follows:
    1.    to provide a secure and accessible venue with a constant power supply;
    2.    to mobilize a target of 1,000 participants (beneficiaries);
    3.    to provide designated ten (10) members of your organization who will act as ushers during the outreach. These ushers should arrive very early and be available for the entire duration of the programme.
Groups that are eligible to host the health mission include faith communities (such as churches and mosques), town/village meetings, market unions, social clubs, professional bodies (including media houses), residents’ associations, local government councils, educational institutions; etc. This free initiative is targeted primarily at the underprivileged masses.
Given the huge cost of the mission and our limited resources, the pilot phase of the FREE Missions is taking place in Lagos State. However, communities and groups outside Lagos State can also apply to host the FREE outreach. Hosts outside Lagos State would be required to sponsor the logistics.
Applications should be written on the official letterhead of your group, and duly endorsed (signed) by at least two of the leaders of your group. One of the signatories must be the most senior officer of your group (for example the most senior pastor or imam, in case of faith groups). The direct contacts (GSM numbers and emails) of each of the signatories should be stated under their names.
    Applications should be addressed to:
    The Executive Secretary
    mass medical mission
    mass medical mission House
    31 Bode Thomas Street
    Surulere, Lagos.
PLEASE NOTE THAT BY CONVENTION, ALL “m” ALPHABETS IN “mass medical mission” ARE WRITTEN IN THE SMALL CASE (m) AND NOT THE BIG CASE (M).
In the letter, kindly suggest three alternative dates of your preference for the health mission. There should be a gap of at least three months between each of the three dates you choose.
For better coordination, you are advised to pick dates which coincide with your usual meeting day. For instance, churches are expected to pick Sundays and not Saturdays or Weekdays.
Please send the scanned (PDF/JPEG) copy of your letter of application to ONLY ONE OF the following RESPECTIVE EMAILS:
FAITH COMMUNITIES (Churches, Mosques, etc)- faith@pinkcruise.org
EDUCATIONAL INSTITUTIONS (Schools, Colleges, Polytechnics, Universities, etc) – school@pinkcruise.org
FEDERAL OR STATE GOVERNMENTS (including Ministries / Parastatals/ Agencies / Departments of Civil/Public Service and Military / Paramilitary /Other Uniformed organizations) – gov@pinkcruise.org
    LOCAL GOVERNMENT COUNCILS – lga@pinkcruise.org
ALL OTHER ASSOCIATIONS (Including Social Clubs, Town Unions, Professional Bodies, Residents’/Professional Associations, Media Houses, Labour Unions; etc) – association@pinkcruise.org
The subject (title) of your email should consist ONLY of the following:  “Name of Organization. Town/State; Suggested dates for health outreach”; each separated by a semi-colon.
    Examples: XYZ TOWN UNION; YABA-LAGOS STATE; 01-02-2019; 01-05-2019; 18-10-2019
Please leave the body of your email blank; everything you want to write should be included in your attached letter
The hard copy of your application letter should also be sent by any reliable courier service to the project head office (mass medical mission House, 31 Bode Thomas Street, Surulere, Lagos). This hard copy letter should be delivered at least two weeks before the earliest of the three alternative dates that you propose for the health outreach.
Eligible groups will be included in the schedule (outreach roster) on a first come, first served basis.
We earnestly look forward to partnering with you towards winning the BIG WAR Against Cancer and other causes of untimely death in society.
    Best regards,

    Mission PinkCruise Team
Operated by the National Cancer Prevention Programme (NCPP), a nongovernmental initiative of mass medical mission (mmm)
POSTSCRIPT 1 – WELLNESS WEDNESDAY AND FAMILY FRIDAY
    i.  Free cancer screening holds every Wednesday and Friday at mass medical mission centre at 31 Bode Thomas Street, Surulere, Lagos.
    2.  Groups that are not able to mobilize enough people for Mission PinkCruise, can take advantage of this opportunity by conveying members of their group to the centre for the free screening on either of the two days.
POSTSCRIPT 2 – THE VACCINE FAIR
VACCINATION AGAINST CANCERS, DYSPLASIAS, WARTS AND RRP
    i.    A Vaccine Fair holds every last Friday & Saturday of the month at our Lagos centre. The Fair promotes access to Gardasil (the quadrivalent and 9-valent) which prevents various cancers caused by HPV.
ii. Human Papilloma Virus (HPV) is a risk factor for over 12 cancers, including cancers of the cervix, vagina, vulva, penis, scrotum, anus, perineum, mouth, throat, tonsil, conjunctiva (eye), skin and nail bed, and perhaps even certain types of breast cancer. HPV also causes precancer and viral warts. Children of HPV positive mothers may die from Recurrent Respiratory Papillomatosis (RRP), an asthma-like disease caused by warts in the wind pipe.
iii. There are two types of HPV vaccines – Gardasil (QUADRIVALENT & 9-VALENT) as well as the BIVALENT. Gardasil protects against more than three HPV Types. The bivalent vaccine protects against only two HPV types (16 & 18) and is used only for preventing cervical cancer in females. An individual can either take Gardasil or bivalent vaccine, but not both.
We recommend GARDASIL vaccine because UNLIKE the bivalent vaccine, it protects against all four groups of HPV-related problems i.e. cancers, dysplasias, viral warts and recurrent respiratory papillomatosis.
GARDASIL is given from the age of 9 (nine) years to BOTH MALES AND FEMALES. It is administered in three doses (at contact, two months and six months). Gardasil vaccine is available on request.
