Towards the realization of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) especially SDG 5&10, all hands have to be on deck to ensure that the goals as set by the United Nations are achieved.

This and other salient issues were part of the discussions between the first lady of Kwara State Her Excellency Dr. (Mrs) Olufolake Abdulrazaq and the Senior Special Assistant to President Mohammadu Buhari on sustainable goals,Princess Adejoke Orelope -Adefulire in her office in Abuja.
Dr Olufolake at the meeting observed that insufficient progress on structural issues is at the root of gender inequality, unfair social norms and attitudes, decision making on sexual and reproductive issues and low levels of political participation are undermining our ability to achieve gender equality and empower all women and girls.
While she noted that women’s political participation in kwara state at the moment is one that should be emulated, she stressed that her office and Ajike people’s support center’s effort at promoting economic empowerment of women, an area she believes the SDG office should key in to, to further promote kwara women and girls.
She further stated that inequalities in income and wealth are severe and have been widening globally hence the need to bridge this gap to enable the country reduce inequality .
On her own part,the Senior Special Assistant to the President, Princess Adefulire reaffirmed the Federal Government’s resolve to ensure that Nigeria joins other Nations of the world in achieving these set goals.
She highlighted the programmes and interventions of the SDG office adding that projects in social empowerment, women and youth development will be extended to kwara state.
