Lagos State Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Mr. Gbenga Omotosho has declared that the Lagos State Government under Governor Babajide Sanwo–Olu is committed to a joint funding of the recently launched South west security outfit otherwise known as Operation Amotekun.

Omotosho disclosed this on Thursday during an interview aired on Lagos Talks, 91.3Fm, conducted by its anchor, Mr. Jimi Disu.

According to him, ” since Operation Amotekun is set up to protect the lives and property of everybody in Yorubaland, it is the intention of the Gov. Babajide Olusola Danwo-Olu-led government in Lagos State to jointly fund the security network alongside his other five colleagues in the other South West Region..”

Said he,”Notwithstanding the fact that we in Lagos State already have a very functional Lagos State Security Trust Fund and Lagos State Neighborhood Security, it is our government’s intention to contribute our own quota to the success of Operation Amotekun in the overall interest of our people across the South West. “
