Lagos-Ibadan Expressway:70 more houses to go

Seventy structures more are to be demolished to pave way for the on -going reconstruction of the Lagos Ibadan Expressway.

Adedamola Kuti,the federal controller of works for Southwest zone told Television Continental Tuesday evening that the demolition of the structures is as a result of new additions to the size of the road especially on the Lagos,/Sagamu axis which has three lanes on each side beside the service lane.
Among this additions are Toll gates,fly -,overs and pedestrian walk.
The federal controller enjoined property owners most of which are on kilometre 24 on the express road that no property will be demolished until compensation is paid adding that consultants of the ministry are already at work to collate the cost of the demolitions.
He disclosed that the reconstruction of the road which was completed in 1978 will be completed in years 2022 .
Kuti enjoined road users to exercise patience on the road which he said is easily the busiest in the country in terms of its strategic location and link to other parts of the country.
