Senator Buruji Kashamu’s spokesman, Mr. Austin Oniyokor, has opened up on the piece of  news making the rounds that his boss is reponssible for the searchlight the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) is beaming on the lottery business of Kesseington Adebutu (alias Baba Ijebu).
According to Oniyokor, the petition to EFCC that has drawn EFCC’s attention to Baba Ijebu, was written by Western Lotto  and signed by its General Manager, Tajudeen Usman and has nothing to do with the senator; though, he is said to be one of the promoters of Western Lotto
“Sir, it’s not my boss that wrote the petition. It’s Western Lotto that wrote a petition. It was signed by the General Manager, Mr. Tajudeen Usman. He is just one of its promoters,” Oniyokor said in a response to Newdawn’s enquiry.

The news in town had alleged that Kashamu was behind  Adebutu’s travil .

The news claimed that the former lawmaker sent a petition to EFCC about Adebutu’s company, Premier Lotto.

Consequently, Premier Lotto is now been investigated by EFCC and Adebutu’s son, Segun, has been detained by the EFCC.

That the son is being questioned by the EFCC on matters telating to tax fraud to economic sabotage amounting to N5billion.

The petition read in part,“All the taxpayers’ billions they diverted should have been paid into the lottery commission trust fund to build infrastructure and alleviate poverty amongst the Nigerian masses.”

“I urge Nigerians to continue to pressure the EFCC to investigate and charge all those responsible for sabotaging the country’s economy without any pity for the masses.”

Insiders told us that Kashamu who owns Western Lotto has issues with Adebutu, his major competitor in the lotto business.

Sources said; “What we learnt is that Buruji Kashamu said he has sole rights to ‘Ghana Games’ in Nigeria. But he should not burn down the entire industry to implement his business interests.”
