The Deputy Governor of Delta State, Deacon Kingsley Otuaro, has charged the Board of the Delta State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission (DESOPADEC) to continue to live up to expectations by embarking on projects that would impact positively on oil bearing communities and the people.
Deacon Otuaro stated this at Okerenkoko, Warri South West Local Government Area, during the commissioning of four units two bedroom bungalows executed by DESOPADEC for Senior Lecturers of the Nigerian Maritime University, Okerenkoko.
The Deputy Governor said that he was impressed with the quality of work and furnishing of the four bedroom bungalows for senior lecturers of the Nigerian Maritime University, Okerenkoko.

He noted that the project which was completed in record time attest to the fact that the present DESOPADEC board was determined to meet its mandate on oil bearing communities.
Deacon Otuaro, who inspected the buildings and facilities after the commissioning, described it as a star project that would further enhance a conducive environment for lecturers.
The deputy governor urged the DESOPADEC board to extend its development strides to other bearing communities in order for them to feel the impact and commended the contractor for delivering a quality project in line with specifications.
He noted that so much was expected from DESOPADEC and the benefitting community, while urging the people to continue their support for the present administration.
The Member representing Warri South West Constituency in the State House of Assembly and Chairman House Committee on DESOPADEC, Honourable Emomotimi Guwor, commended the interventionist agency for embarking on projects, which he described as landmark in a riverine community.
He said the project was dear to the heart of the people, adding that the staff quarter would enable lecturers have a befitting accommodation and expressed hope that the DESOPADEC board would leave in its development imprint in all oil bearing communities across the state.
The Managing Director of DESOPADEC, Chief Askia Ogieh, said that the project was executed and completed in record time with house hold furnishing and equipment provided in all the apartments.
He said that the completion of the project was a signal and zeal of the new board that it was out for a paradigm shift.
The DESOPADEC Managing Director assured that all projects embarked upon by the commission would be completed within the budget year.
The DESOPADEC Executive Director in charge of Projects, Honourable Daniel Mayuku, said that the project was awarded in May 2019 and completed in record time with furnishing and household equipment.
