The Commissioner for Health and Human Services Ekiti State, Dr. (Mrs.) Mojisola Yaya – Kolade, has described the turn out of Ekiti people, especially people within the ages of 9 months to 44 years in the on- going Yellow Fever immunisation in the state as impressive.

According to Biodun Olofe, the information officer for the state health ministry, she made this statement in ilupeju Ekiti in oye local government during an an unscheduled inspection to some local government areas to monitor the ongoing yellow fever vaccination in Ekiti state.
Yaya-Kolade reiterated the commitment of Kayode Fayemi administration towards good and quality health service delivery to the good people of Ekiti State.
“Our governor is doing everything possible, even committing a lot of money to the health sector to ensure a better health people of Ekiti State. I think this is highly commendable”. She said.
The health Commissioner echoed that Ekiti people are strategic in ensuring that the vaccine against yellow fever gets to every member of the group that needs to be vaccinated.
” I am well impressed, we have had over two hundred at every centre we visited and are not ready to stretch the target too much because the target is the minimal and I can assure the whole world that we can do better”. She said.
She commended all the donor partners and Ekiti health team over their efforts to ensure a successful vaccination as she encouraged those within the age range to make themselves available for the vaccination and urged people above 44 years to be patient as government is working towards their own vaccination that would also be free of charge.
Some of the towns visited included iworoko Ekiti, ifaki, Aiyegbaju, oye and ilupeju Ekiti.
The yellow fever vaccination is expected to run till 2nd February, 2020.
