AIFF opens entries for 2020 edition

Entries for film categories at the 17th Abuja Inteenationsl Film Festival AIFF has opened in earnest.

The festival founded by ace film maker and producer, Fidelis Duker, holds annually in October has continued to be a rallying point for film makers in Nigeria and beyond to learn on tbe new trends in film making as well as network with other film makers and other professionals.

The entries for different award categories opened on January 15, 2020 and will end on June 30, 2020

The festival now in its seventeenth year and waxing stronger offers a contemporary and liberal platform for the filmmakers of the World to exhibit the excellence of the film art form. The aim is mainly to contribute to the understanding and appreciation of cultures of different nations.

At the 2019 Abuja film festival, Gabriel Afolayan won the Outstanding Actor for his role in the acclaimed Nollywood film ‘Gold Statue’ and
Aevese Emokpae won best actress for her role in movie ‘The Unbreakable’.

Speaking preparations for this year’s edition, the festival director Temitope reiterated the festival commitment to upholding the high standard of the film festival which it has been able to sustain for over 17 years.

  • She also mentioned that a two new competitive categories will be included to broaden the scope of the festival with a view of rewarding excellence in more categories.
