…Says AGF’s position on security outfit an insult on Yoruba

A Yoruba self determination group, Atayese, has described as an insult on Yoruba nation, the statement credited to Attorney General and Justice minister,Abubakar Malami on the illegality of Amotekun, the western Nigeria security outfit set up in the aftermath of failure of the nations security system.
In a press statement signed by the president and secretary general,Comrade Gbenga Awosode and Wole Aina respectively, the group threw its weight behind Ayo Adebanjo, the foremost Yoruba leaders position saying that the ministers statement insults the intelligence of south west governors and the electorate who elected them into office.
It stated further that Malamis statement “exposes the unthinking po!icies of President Muhammad Buhari” which it argued,”amount to crass Northernisation and ignorant abuse of the desire of majority of Southerners for a truly federal system of government .”
As a result, the group call on President Buhari to “find the moral courage and sense of history to reverse the AG statement.”,
Failure to withdraw the statement, the Yoruba federalist movement contended ,”would amount to the government of President Buhari, working hard for his policies and government to fail as his choices and policies consistently suggest”.
