The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) has vowed to support Operation Amotekun with all its might.
This is coming on the heels of the recent declaration by the Federal Government that the special security scheme by South-West states is illegal.
A statement made available to journalists on Thursday, in Awka, by IPOB Leader, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, stressed that regardless of the history of politics of treachery that may have existed between the East and the West in the past, IPOB will work with the present generation of Yoruba leadership.
He listed the leadership to include the likes of Pa Ayo Adebanjo, Yinka Odumakin, Femi Fani-Kayode and Omoleye Sowore.
The statement partly reads: “I will support this generation of Yorubas that set up Amotekun. IPOB will work with them. If they want one million men, I will give them to make sure the Fulani Caliphate murderous expansionism is stopped.
“We will support the Yorubas in all forms and by every means necessary.
“IPOB will back Amotekun Security Outfit. It is not going anywhere. They are here to stay and IPOB will support them.
“The final and definitive stance of the Biafran people is that IPOB will support Operation Amotekun with all our might.”
It will recalled that like Amotekun, which the Federal Goverment has declared as an illegal outfit, IPOB at the height of its agitation for the realisation of Biafra, had been declare a terrorist organisation by the same Prersident Buhari headed Federal government of Nigeria.
