Elegushi plans big for 10th anniversary 




Debonair Lagos monarch, Oba Saheed Ademola Elegushi, is set to shake the Lagos social scene, as activities gears up towards his 10th anniversary on the throne as the Elegushi of Ikate Kingdom.

Sources close to the stylish monarch informed that to ensure a well coordinated event, a strategy committee headed by the Head of Service of Lagos State and close ally of the king, Hakeem Muri-Okunola, is already meeting to put together a stellar anniversary celebration for the king.

Some of the activities being planned for the anniversary, which is expected to hold around the Easter season in April, includes a football competition for secondary schools, a book launch, royalty nite and anniversary ball.

In similar fashion, a state of the art multi-purpose edifice is being constructed around the King’s palace, as this will be the venue for most of the events.  A visit to the facility, named “The Monarch” shows that work is at advanced state as the King as directed the contractor to complete the project in time for the anniversary.

Oba Saheed Elegushi was installed as the 21st Elegushi on the 27th of April 2010, following the demise of his predecessor and father, Oba Yekini Adeniyi Elegushi.
