Burna Boy’s track among Obama’s 2019 songs of the year


Former President of the United States of America, Barrack Obama, has named Nigeria’s Burna boy among his favourite artistes of 2019.

Obama who shared his favorite songs of 2019 as the year runs to an end listed Lizzo’s “Juice”, Wale & Jeremih’s “On Chill”, to Beyoncé & Jay Z’s “Mood 4 Eva” and Nigeria’s Mavin Records‘ Rema’s “Iron Man” (also featured in the Obama’s summer playlist) and Burna Boy’s “Anybody” on the 35-song list.

Talking about his favourites in the outgoing year, the former President said “From hip-hop to country to The Boss, here are my songs of the year. If you’re looking for something to keep you company on a long drive or help you turn up a workout, I hope there’s a track or two in here that does the trick.”

Damini Ebunoluwa Ogulu is a 28 year old Nigerian popularly known as Burna Boy. He is a singer and songwriter who came to the limelight in 2012 with his ‘Like to Party’ track from his debut album LIFE. He also won the best International Act at the 2019 BET Awards.
