Rejection of stabbed young lady:Falana to sue for damages

Femi Falana has disclosed his intention to institute legal action against the medical doctor and hospital in Gbagada area of Lagos that refused to treat a young lady, a graduate of Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), Moradewun Balogun,who was stabbed to death by hoodlums in Gbagada area of Lagos State and her laptop, phones taken away.

Falana said this in a telephone call he made while reacting to the Your View programme on Television Continental (TVC) this morning, which discussed the incident.
The human rights lawyer said the law as stipulated did not make it mandatory for doctors to demand police report before saving the lives of the young girl who was left to bleed to death before he was eventually taken to Gbagada General Hospital.

Mr. Falana said his chamber has been briefed about the unfortunate incident and would sue for collateral damage for the parents of the lady and for professional negligence by the private hospital. which refused to give  first aid treatment to the deceased.
It will be recalled that the young graduate, Moradeun, was stabbed to death by hoodlums before dispossessing her of her laptop, phone and other valuables.
