Members of the Ogun All Progressive Congress who were injured by hoodlums loyal to the Allied Progressive Movement(APM) during President Muhammad Buhari’s visit to Abeokuta before the elections are now lamenting that 9 months after non of the hoodlums have been brought to book.
Moreover, they are particularly worried that Governor Dapo Abiodun, has left those who led the attack in control of the Transport Unions to the detriment of the party loyalists.
President Buhari had on Monday, 11th Febuary visited Abeokuta for his presidential campaign with some thugs attacking members of the APC over the choice of Prince Dapo Abiodun as the party candidate as against the Honourable Abiodun Akinlade of the APM,who was choice of then incumbent Governor Ibikunle Amosun.
The crowd waiting for President Buhari inside the MKO Abiola stadium was attacked by the hoodlums with dangerous weapons leaving some badly injured and some maimed.
Some of those injured who spoke to newdawnngr.com expressed shock that 9 months after the incident, nobody has been brought to book over the incident.
“We were at the stadium and we were attacked for supporting Dapo Abiodun. We were beaten and stabbed. Some are still nursing their injuries
“Surprisingly, nobody has been brought to book till date. Even when Governor Abiodun has assumed office.
“Yet some of those who led the attack that we identified are still in control of the Transport Unions to the detriment of loyal APC members” he declared.
