As the Ogun State Governor Prince Dapo Abiodun is set to appoint members of his cabinet and Chairmen and members of Caretaker Committees into the 20 Local Government Areas, a lot of intrigues are coming to play with some aspirants bribing some leaders at the local level
Sources informed Newdawnngr that although the State leadership of the party has already submitted the list of nominees as collated from each Local Government efforts were still on by some aspirants in the areas where there has been no consensus on the list submitted.
Only few local governments were able to arrive at consensus nominees as many of the LGs submitted more than one list.
Efforts of the Chairman, Chief Yemi Sanusi, to get the local leaders to harmonise were abortive as all were said to be sticking to their guns prompting him to forward all the lists.
Example of a local government in Ogun Central where a notable member of the “kitchen cabinet ” of Prince Abiodun is rooting for a particular Chairmanship candidate as against the name submitted by the leaders in his local government.
The candidate is adjudged to be least qualified among the aspirant because of his limited education as he has no School Certificate.
Informed sources said he was nominated by the said member of the “kitchen cabinet ” who is an SSA with a boast that he would ram the nomination through.
The aspirants was said to have been given a large sum money to be distributed to the local government leaders to get their cooperation but with most of the rejecting the money
The money being distributed was said to have come from a member of the Transport Committee.
In another local government from Ogun East, a woman who was said not to have made the Commissionership list from the leaders, has continued to boast that with her connections with those in the “kitchen cabinet ” she would make the list of Commissioners
Mentioning at least three names of those she said were in the said kitchen cabinet, the Commissionership aspirants said they would influence her choice against that of the leaders
Governor Abiodun is expected to announce the least later this month as Governor’s Office sources said they were already compiling the names
