All is set for the D-day for the JAC Motors Abeokuta 10km Race, athletes are trooping into town, sporting stakeholders are converging and many media houses are sending their representatives for the talk of the event racing events.
Security personnel from the men of the Ogun State Traffic Compliance & Enforcement agency and the Nigeria Police Force amongst others are rounding up their scope, modus operandi as well as strategy to enforce hitch free marathon race in Abeokuta. Not a few promotional materials can be found at strategic points within Egba metropolis, everybody knows something is about to happen.
While some are into this to win the coveted $5000 star prize for the professional athletes, some wants the One million naira star prize each for amateur and wheelchair athletes, some wants to use the opportunity of the race to savour the tourism potential of the rocky city of Abeokuta and some wants to exercise for health sake. A great percentage can’t also wait to meet music stars at the finish line at Ake Palace Ground.
Expo and kits collection ends today at MKO Abiola Stadium, Kuto. All roads lead to Iyana Oloke tomorrow morning as we journey to the finish line and winners emerge while TENI, 9ice, Barry J and Alayo Singer amongst other entertainers will thrill us qith great music.
