Anchor Borrowers: Ogun to train agric officers

For the smooth take-off and successful implementation of its Anchor Borrowers’ Programme (ABP), the Ogun State Government has concluded plans to train Agriculture Extension Service Officers.

The Chairman, ABP Steering Committee, Prof. Bola Okuneye, who disclosed this during a meeting of the Committee, held at the Ministry of Agriculture complex, Oke-Mosan, noted that the training became imperative to equip the Extension Service Officers with necessary information and guidelines on the Programme, to enable them perform their duties effectively, noting that beneficiaries would later be trained by the Officers in their respective Local Governments.
Earlier, the Consultant to the Governor on Agriculture, Dr. Adelaja Kuye, said resource persons from various fields of interest would be engaged for the exercise, adding that the Local Government Steering Committee would comprise interested community leaders, Local Government officials, Agriculture Officers and other stakeholders to supervise activities at their various Local Governments in the State.
