
One of Nigeria’s brightest minds in film making and culture ambassador whose contributions to the creative industry in Nigeria/Africa, Fidelis Duker, will be speaking at the 7th Tokyo International Conference on African Development (TICAD7) holding in Yokohama Japan from 29 to 30 August 2019.
Duker is one of the two African movie makers invited to speak at the UN event, which has world and African leaders including Nigeria’s own President Mohammadu Buhari leading Governors Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State, Mr. AbdulKarim AbdulRazq of Kwara State and Prof. Babagana Zulum of Borno States as well as some other eminent Nigerian federal ministers in attendance.
The well traveled organiser of the world famous and longest running Abuja International Film festival and member of jury at several renowned film festivals across the globe, is scheduled to speak at the Roundtable on cooperation in the field of cultural industry in Africa; it will be declared open by UNESCO Director General, Audrey Azoulay.
The other African film personality scheduled to attend TICAD7 is, Adoma Souma, director general of FESPACO, Quoagadogo.

According to a source from FAD Media Group office in calabar, Duker who is also the founder of FAD (93.1FM) Calabar, Cross River State and FAD 360 TV, jetted out Sunday on the invitation of the United Nations and Government of Japan and will speak on the 29th of August 2019 to a diverse world audience.
It will be recall that Duker was at a time the continental President of Africa Festival Network covering festivals in diverse genre. He was also a board member of Arterial network.
Duker a former President of directors guild of Nigeria, DGN, was recently re elected regional secretary general, Federation of Pan African Filmmakers (FEPACI), West Africa.
He has been involved in the entertainment and culture industry for over 25 years with over 80 films and TV programmes including short films and documentaries to his credit.
Its important that at this trying period where a few Nigerians are battering the image of Nigeria, we still have Nigerians like Duker doing us proud in the global arena
Aside these, he also serves as consultant on film and the creative sector to Ethiopia, Madagascar and Botswana and has been speaking and presenting papers on film and creative industry in over 45 different countries.
