Allocation of portfolios not good enough for next Level – Isola Williams


Former Secretary of Transparency International,General Isola Williams, has criticised the allocation of portfolios saying most if the ministers are not experienced enough about their ministries.

He said that though President Buhari has said he will only give portfolios to trusted hands most of the new ministers were inexperienced on their portfolios.
“GMB has told us that he will put trusted hands-on key portfolios but he has . has also given back the portfolios t o the former holders.,”
He said by the allocation of portfolios there is still too much to be done as the cabinet,” is still too much top down system “.
He said the constitution should be amended such that” States handle Power,Water, Roads,Housing etc and reduce the number of MDAS and office holders.”
As for him,the Minister of Finance has not got the experience and the expertise neither is Rafiu Aregbesola got much experience to handle the Interior ministry.
“With this current system,there is no change or not to talk of moving to another level.” He declared.
