When Azuka Oniyia’s Next Microfinance cleaned Ajah

Dr, Azuka  Oniyia and Segun Sodimu, managing directors of Next Micro Finance, in collaboration with Waste Buzz Recycling, led a team of volunteers to clean  Ilaje area of Mobile Estate, Lagos.

The sanitization exercise saw some communities in the said regions benefiting from the exercise.

The highlight of the event saw Oniyia partaking in the  exercise and other volunteers who despite what was involved, carried out the exercise.

Speaking after,  oniyia revealed that the exercise was not only for the Ilaje area of mobile Estate, but other areas will be included, which will be done quarterly.

She also disclosed that efforts were not wearing out in the bid to downplay the title of Lagos as being a “dirty State” but to also make it one of the cleanest cities in the world.

 “We are not relenting in our effort in making sure Lagos is clean of dirt and ranked as one of the cleanest cities in the world”

“It is not all about looking good yourself, but your environment has to reflect on your personality, we intend to be doing this frequently; The two organisations have come together in their efforts to promote sustainable development and give back to the communities in which they operate.”

Also speaking was the Managing Director at Next Micro Finance, Segun Sodimu, who said “Every time you save with us, you help contribute to a fund that assists us to tackle the pollution of our waterways caused by improper disposal of wastes, especially plastic wastes”
