The club disclosed this in a statement by the club Media Officer, Albert Dakup, and made available to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Friday in Jos.
NAN reports that Plateau United narrowly escaped relegation at the last match of the outgone abridged season of the NPFL after an underwhelming performance.
“The team’s objective this season is to compete favourably with the best clubs and pick a continental ticket at the end of the season.
“The management is taking its time to get trusted and reliable players who will add value to the team unlike last season’s experience where some of the players who joined the team became a distraction,” Dakup said.
Meanwhile, the management of the club has extended its resumption from end of season recess by one week and would now resume on Aug. 5, 2019.
The club had on June 24 proceeded on a six-week recess and were expected to resume on July 29.
The media officer said that the extension became necessary to enable management to complete negotiations with some newly-invited players.
