Ekiti health commissioner, board chairman lament poor state of general hospitals
Promised immediate facelift
Ekiti state government has promised to give government general and state specialist hospitals across Ekiti State a facelift .
The state commissioner for health and human services, Dr Mojisola Yaya-Kolade, made this promise in Ado Ekiti during the inspection tour to the secondary care facilities across the 16 local government areas of the state.
Dr. Yaya-Kolade who registered her displeasure over the infrastructural defect of some secondary care facilities describing it as dilapidated and worrisome.

“This is very disheartening that our hospitals are in this pitiable condition. This is where Kayode Fayemi government left it in 2014 and we are coming to meet it again in 2019. It’s obvious that the last administration did not do anything here. It is very bad”. She said.
Also the chairman,Ekiti state hospitals management board Dr. Bayo Orire lamented the poor state of the hospitals in Ekiti. He said this is not far from the non challant attitude of the last government towards health of Ekiti people.
Dr. Orire commended the staff of the facilities for working in such a sorry environment and promised that the Kayode Fayemi administration is back in the saddle of Ekiti state government to provide succor to the dilapidated condition of the hospitals in Ekiti state.
The chairman charged the staff of the hospitals to be more committed to their duties and up their game stressing that their assignment is a service to humanity.
The permanent secretary Hospitals management board,Dr.Williams Afolabi narrated that the purpose of the visit to the hospitals is to know what is happening in the various hospitals and some challenges faced in the area of equipments and infrastructure so as to ensure
quality health service delivery to Ekiti residents.
He described some facilities as under utilized and urged the staff to renew their commitment in giving their best to Ekiti health services.
Some of the staff of the hospitals who beg for anonymity pleaded that the state government should come to their aid in the area of working environment and equipment so as for them to give in their best to the good health care service delivery promised by the state governor.
Some of the hospitals visited include Oba Adejugbe General hospital,Ado-Ekiti, General hospital,Iye Ekiti, General hospital,Ilupeju Itapa,General hospital,Oye Ekiti, State specialist hospital Ikere,Ikole,Ijero,General hospital ifaki,Emure among others.
