Ekiti scores100% in response to outbreak of polio

Ekiti state Government under the leadership of Dr Kayode Fayemi has reiterated it’s commitment to quality health care delivery system across the state that earned her 100% in the recent OBR rating nationwide.

The Chairman Primary Health Care Development Agency in Ekiti state ,Chief (Mrs) Monisola Oloro stated this at a stakeholders meeting by the governing board with the stakeholders in the Ekiti primary health sector on how to deliver on their mandate and the inauguration of Local Government Management Team.

Mrs Oloro described the interface as a milestone, noting that the Agency had no Board members in the immediate past Administration which has
negatively affected the operation and optimum performance of the Agency.

She solicited the commitment and support of all the stakeholders in health sector to give maximum cooperation to the board in pursuit of a common goal of achieving preventive health care services and setting the State Primary Health Care Board in the right direction for impactful results.

Earlier in her remarks, the Permanent Secretary of the Agency Pharmacist Olabisi Arogundade noted that the interface was to charge the stakeholders on how to ensure optimum performance.

Pharmacist Arogundade expressed the deep appreciation to Dr Kayode Fayemi for appointing board members with impeccable characters who have paid their dues in the health sector .

Responding on behalf of the medical officers of health in the 16 local government areas Dr. Benjamin Popoola appreciated the Ekiti state government for appointing the right persons to man the affairs of the state primary health care development agency and also described the meeting as a welcome development geared towards good health care delivery in Ekiti state.

He charged the leadership of the board to make the meeting a continuous exercise and also pledged their support and commitment to the government of the day.

The Local Government Management Team which comprised all stakeholders in health in all the 16 LGAs in Ekiti state is expected to begin work immediately.
