Governor Ben Ayade of Cross River State has donated the sum of N10 million towards the medical bills of a stunch supporter of Senator John Owan Enoh’s to save his life.
Ogbeche Paolo, a stunch supporter of Senator John Owan Enoh in the last governorship elections in the state, has been critically sick and needed N14million to undergo a thoracotomy operation.
He had appealed for assistance from well meaning and public spirited individuals who did their best but the amount raised was not enough to take care of what the operation demands.
It was at this point that Ogbeche decided to make a simple appeal for financial assistance of N10million to Governor Ben Ayade, and the exact amount was graciously approved by the governor for his Medical treatment, as disclosed by Mr. Ogbeche himself in a “Facebook” message.
Armed with the Money approved by Ayade, Ogbeche proceeded to the Netcare Krugersdorp Private Hospital, Mogale city, South Africa, where he had Dr. Elias Zigiriadis carried out a successful thoracotomy operation on him.
The beneficiary of Ayade’s benevolence, Ogbeche Paolo, disclosed that the surgery took about N14MILLION and that he had to embarked on public appeal to raise funds which was not up to what was required to take care of the medical treatment, before he wrote to the governor seeking for help.
“…God sure did make a way and this “way” came in the person of Sen Prof. Ben Ayade. I wrote a simple letter of appeal stating my case and situation and asking that he should assist me with N10MILLION to enable me keeps that surgery date.

It was only a few days later I got word that His Excellency had approved “something” for me, I was very happy, grateful to the governor for his magnanimity and particularly blessed God for this breakthrough.”
Ogbeche who disclosed that the Governor approved the same amount he requested for also asserted that he has reason to go this narrative in order to appreciate the governor for “allowing God to use him to give me another shit at life. It takes a man with a humane heart, who has value for other people lives to give that kind of assistance just like that”.
In conclusion, Ogbeche stated: “As I recuperate and think about the past few months, I think of the kindness of Governor Ayade, had he not listened to God and responded positively, what would have been my lot?
It would be recalled that Ogbeche Paolo had been a vehement supporter of Senator John Owan Enoh for governor in the last governorship elections and Alhaji Atiku Abubakar for President.
Besides the magnanimity shown to a stunch supporter of Owan, the Cross River State Governor has in several instances displayed such rare love when he doled out N10MILLION each to Reepe and Okpo Records both local artists of Cross River State extraction and another N10MILLION to a drama Group in Calabar.
