President Muhammad Buhari has renamed the National stadium Abuja as the Moshood Abiola Stadium.
The gesture the President said is the atone for the tremendous loss of the life or the heroes if democracy and promised to bridge the poverty gap between the poor and rich in the country.
It will be recalled that the theme of late Chief Moshood Abiolas campaign was Farewell to Poverty.
President Buhari said that efforts will be made to ensure that the widening gap between the poor and rich will be breached by intensifying the development of the nations rural areas and called on investors to direct fresh investments to the nations rural areas.
He also said that the administration will complete the on going construction of 2000 roads across the country in order to enhance the administrations promotion of Food security in the country.
In order to achieve this goal,he said that the Social investment programme will be expanded to further bridge the gap between the rural poor and the rich.
Speaking further, president Buhari spoke if renewed efforts to curb the growing menace of insecurity in the country and drew a parallel between social security and insecurity ravaging the country.
He promised to involve efforts to use the neighbouring countries to reduce the effects of the Lake Chad basin on migration and the climate change.
In order to achieve the new goal,he promised to broaden the government with an all encompassing cabinet to solve its myriad problems adding that competent hands will be used from across board to move the country forward.
In order to achieve this,he called on state governors to help in reducing the burden by implementing programmes that with reduce rural poverty and development the economy.
President Buhari promised to run an inclusive government that will involve Nigerians from across the broad spectrum of the country.
