As the D-Day for the Bayelsa State governorship election draws near, more heavyweights are said to have thrown their caps into the governorship race ring.
Information reaching Newdawn says that personalities like Heineken Lokpobiri, former speaker of the state’s assembly, Ebebi, ex-Niger Delta Development Commission (NNDC), Director of Finance and Administration, Timi Alibe and Senator Ben Murray-Bruce have joined the race.
Though non of them have come out publicly to tell Bayelsans of their intentions, their body language is suggestive just as many believe that Alibe will be the last person the incumbent governor who is also the chairman of Peoples Democratic Governors’ Forum, will support for the party’s ticket.
