The Rastafari Continental Council (RCC) annual summit, make a return to Ghana. And it is for RCC executives, RCC commissioner’s, RCC advisories and special guests coming in from the Diaspora, for 3 main reasons:
1. Approve/Adopt constitution so RCC may become a legal entity and begin fully functioning, currently everything is interim…
2. Host RCC elections, again, ALL posts are currently INTERIM,
3. Provide RCC country reports to further help determine the priorities and processes needed for RCC to be effective.
Naturally Akwaaba is extended to any Rastafari desiring to be in Ghana for this time as some activities are ope for all.
The SUMMIT however is convened and administered by the RCC Secretariat, based in South Africa, per the draft constitution.
Following in the footsteps of Qadamawi Haile Selassie and Founding Fathers such as Kwame Nkrumah, establishing a Supra Structure like the OAU requires alot of work and time.
RCC is embarking on something never done before by and for Rastafari in 55 countries, advancing Rastafari goals and aspirations, confident that what is good for Rastafari is good for Africa and what is good for Africa is good for the world, say I.
Naturally, time is scheduled for reasoning activities and training for RCC Country Execs to prepare them for thier duties.
Importantly, time is on the agenda to visit the dungeons called castles in Cape Coast. As this is the beginning of the resistance and redemption that evolved into the Rastafari Movement in we know today. We are thankful this is included as site visits for RCC Execs and all to be remindes that we are one people and not land, sea, time or circumstances should separate INI again.
It is therefore my prayer, as the one whom RCC chose to recognize as the Mother and Mid Wife of RCC in Cape Town at the inaugural RCC Summit 2018… as one who came out of the dungeons of the Cape Coast and one who was brutally taken to Jamaica… and one who has returned home to Africa, married to an Ethiopian of the House of Solomon…I say to RCC,
I pledge my Motherly love and loyalty. I trust the Continental Rastafari to establish, administer and implement RCC on your terms in your way and based on your narrative and needs.
I am honored to be called Mother of RCC but this mother is confident that Mother Africa’s Rastafari children need no micromanagement.
Stay strong, stay focused and deliberate as if your life and children’s lives depend on it…they do and so does the fate of Rastafari collectively in the Diaspora depend on a successful and strong RCC Structure for repatriation to be realized.
Make history RCC WITH LOVE & GRACE…FEARLESSLY & UNAPOLOGETICALLY. THIS IS FOR MOTHER AFRICA…OUR CONTINENT NEEDS RCC!!
