The Federal Government has ordered the suspension of all mining activities in Zamfara State with immediate effect.
The Inspector General of Police Mohammed Adamu revealed this at a press conference in Abuja.
The IGP flanked by the DG DSS and DG NIA said the police has declared a security operation code names Operation “Puff Adder” to flush out bandits in Zamafara and its neighbouring states.
The operation is also to destroy their camps and mop up all illicit arms.
