Rivers State government has placed a ban in public protest in the state till further gathered.
This was made known through the twitter handle of Rivers state Governor, Nyeson Wike.
The Governor also directed all security agencies in the state to comply with directive from Rivers state government.

The decision of Rivers government to place a ban on public protest is as result of the protest stage in the Rivers state on Thursday by group of women demanding removal of Rivers Residential Electoral Commission (REC).
