Amunike makes history, Qualifies Tanzania for AFCON after 39-year wait

Former Super Eagles assistant coach, Emmanuel Amuneke made history with Tanzania by guiding the Taifa Stars to their first Africa Cup of Nations appearance in 39 years.

The Taifa Stars grabbed a crucial win in Dar es Salaam to qualify for the top Caf competition in Egypt.

The team defeated Uganda 3-0 at the National Stadium, Dar es Salaam on Sunday.

Goals from Simon Msuwa, Erasto Nyoni and a sublime header from Aggrey Morris secured Tanzania’s berth at the 2019 AFCON.

The East African nation stunned Group L leaders to record an historic victory in front of home fans at the National Stadium on Sunday.

The win by the Taifa Stars ensured that they displaced Lesotho to finish second in the group log with eight points from six games.
