Ogun State Governor- elect, Prince Dapo Abiodun has said that his focus now was to run the best government ever in the history of the State adding that he harbors no anger in his heart.
He assured that his administration would ensure qualitative governance which would be responsive, open and accountable to the people of the state.

Prince Abiodun who spoke at Iperu-Remo countryhome while delivering his victory speech promised to bring back the lost glory of local government administration towards ensuring that, they truly reflect the third tier governance on the people.
The governor-elect who noted that local government administrations remained the closest to the people, vowed to run a government that will create a beneficial synergy towards quickening the pace of development in all the local government areas of the state.

Noting that the state require funds to execute developmental projects across the three senatorial districts of the state, Abiodun said that his administration will concentrate on developing agriculture, and also open rural roads “in order to increase the output of food and cash crops, create wealth for farmers as well as ease challenges of moving farm produce to markets within and outside the state”.
Fielding questions from journalists, the governor-elect dismissed insinuations over the probability of probing the outgoing Ibikunle Amosun’s led administration, stressing that such is premature.
In the area of providing infrastructure for rapid industrialisation, Abiodun said his administration will create and promote an enabling environment for Public Private sector Partnership (PPP) which he said is fundamental to economic development and individual prosperity.

Speaking about his ordeal with the outgoing governor, Abiodun said throughout his period of persecution before becoming the governor he neither exhibited nor utter any negative statement against Amosun even when he became obvious that he was behind his ordeal.
“Anger does not have a place in my heart. I believe the people of Ogun State have spoken and so be it. The governorship journey wasn’t because of Amosun or Abiodun but about the people of Ogun State and so, that was why I kept telling the people of Ogun State to vote for us. It is purely about the state.”
Also commenting about the support of his candidature by the former governor of the State, Otunba Gbenga Daniel, the governor-elect explained that Daniel’s support was not borne out of any PDP/APC merger, but on personal friendship.

“Our people in Ogun East felt it is the time for us to produce the next governor and that was what Otunba Daniel worked for,” he said.
“In 2002, during the gubernatorial primaries that produced Daniel as PDP candidate for the 2003 election, I came second to OGD and so, Daniel felt since I supported him then, he should reciprocate the gesture and that was what he did”.

He however considered the possibility of adopting the manifestos of other contestants in his bid to provide good governance for the people of the state, stressing that, “the development of Ogun is a collective business of all”.
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Ogun State, on Monday declared Abiodun as the winner of the March 9 governorship election.
