Chairman of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) in Ogun State, Comrade Akeem Ambali, reinstated recently into the civil service by Governor Ibikunle Amosun, yesterday paid a thank you visit to the governor.
Accompanied by some labour leaders, including the Chairman of the Trade Union Congress (TUC), Comrade Bunmi Fajobi, Ambali, who was received by the governor at his Ibara, Abeokuta personal residence, said “the past is gone and a new era is here.”
Ambali said he was there to appreciate the governor for being compassionate to reinstate him and three teachers, who were also dismissed from the civil service for misconduct, after a meeting with a delegation of national leadership of the organised labour, led by NLC President, Comrade Ayuba Wabba last Tuesday.
He said the governor has so far reinstated 35 dismissed members of the NLC, noting that it is the hallmark of a true leader.
On the promise by the governor to offset outstanding deductions and entitlements before he leaves office, Ambali said, “we believe that he will fulfill the promise, because this time around, he was very specific as to when he would pay.”
He described Amosun as a truly labour friendly governor, restating his loyalty to him.
