Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Professor Mahmood Yakubu has said that results of the Presidential and National Assembly Elections held yesterday in Ekiti State is ready and being awaited in Abuja.
Yakubu who spoke during a press conference monitored by New Dawn at about 3:49pm said the south western state is the first to complete its collation.
“The election result for Ekiti State is ready and the INEC commissioner for the state is on his way to Abuja,” he said.
Yakubu also regrets the reports of violence in parts of the country especially where some persons were reportedly killed.
Yakubu however did not read figures of the result, promised collation centre in Abuja would resume operations by 6pm Sunday evening.
