Fact emerged why Senate President, Bukola Saraki backed out on suit seeking to reinstate suspended Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN), Walter Onnoghen.

The decision of the Saraki led leadership to back out was as result of the decision of All Progressive Congress (APC) caucus in the Senate who are in majority to distance themselves from the suit.

The group Led by Senate leader, Ahmad Lawan had filed a suit to challenge the inclusion of APC Senators in the suit to reinstate Onnoghen.

The Caucus also relied on the Supreme Court ruling that stated that there must resolution of both chambers of National Assembly before they can approach Supreme Court.
