All roads lead to the exotic tourism complex of OOPL in Abeokuta Thursday Feb 7 to hear legal juggernauts dissect all customary and common laws on land matters in Ogun State as a bold step to keep the populace aware of traps in land ownership, devolution and acquisition in the state.
Governor Ibukunle Amosun is to deliver a key note address at the one-day interactive retreat designed to sentisize Baales and Community leaders on “understanding traditional and statutory laws on ownership, devolution and acquisition of land in Ogun State” in order to promote peaceful living and eliminate inter personal and township conflicts and the criminality embedded in land disputes.
The one-day retreat organised by the VillageNetwork, an NGO in pursuit of rural empowerment through education, will feature discussions by the Attorney General of Ogun State, Dr. Olumide Ayeni, the Chief Judge of the Ogun State, Hon. Mosunmola Dipeolu, former chairman of Nigeria Bar Association, Mr. P.C. Iwu on all extant laws on land matters as well as judicial intervention to resolve land disputes.
According to Kabiyesi Femi Ogunleye,the convener of the training,Mr. Lekan Togunwa, the chairman of Ogun state chapter of NIPR would be a guest speaker on community relations and panacea to peaceful living while the
Alake and Paramount Ruler of Egbaland, Oba Adedotun Aremu Gbadebo would be the royal father of the event which will also feature Chief Olusegun Obasanjo as Special Guest of honour.
