Nobody paid us to protest for Ambode – Protesters

One of the prominent organisers of the people that occupied the Lagos State House of Assembly in protest against the planned impeachment of the state governor, Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode, has denied not receiving a kobo or any other form of inducement as payment for what they did today, January 30, 2019.

The source, who unfollowed many on his Facebook wall for their opposing views and comments against former President Goodluck Jonathan and his Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), in 2015, but turned 350 degrees in support of President Muhammandu Buhari’s reelection and all that All Progressives Congress (APC) stands for, said that theyvdid what they did pro bono, justice and equity.

However, it remains to be seen if their protest will stop the house from going ahead with the planned impeachment even if Ambode still refuses to personally go before the house and lay the budget as stipulated by law and even as President Buhari did, the day he was booed by the NASS memebers. That remains to be seen in the days ahead.

And as we wait arms akimbo for who blinks first, the house or Ambo, source, whose name wevhave decided to keep out of print, who was one of those in the ‘Ambolekansi’ campaign that was shut down by Babajide Sanwa-Olu with his victory at the Lagos APC primary election and a notable memeber of African Movie Academy Award (AMAA), that Ambode’s Lagos State has hosted twice, has this to say “These are not paid protesters. I  was there and I mobilized all members of my resident association to attend and we never got a dime from anyone. We paid for coaster buses that took us from Amuwo Odofin. There is no sense in the action of the LHA. No sense. Lagos will “fall” if Ambode is impeached. There will be protest votes.”
