Many were feared dead yesterday night when a trailer loaded with iron rod crashed into several vehicles at the Sango Ota toll gate end of the Lagos-Abeokuta Expressway.
According to eye witness account, the trailer was heading from Sango towards Lagos when the driver lost control, rammed into the Urvan passenger bus in front of it which later crashed into commuters, waiting to board vehicles heading towards Lagos.
Newdawn sources said all the passengers in the Urvan bus lost their lives, while the vehicle also crushed several commuters waiting at the bus stop.
As at the time of filling this report men of the federal road safety corps ,FRSC,are still trying to evacuate those injured to the hospital.
Incident of fatal crashes have become a recurrent issue at the toll gate while authorities concerned are yet to find lasting solutions to the source of the frequent accident which always claim lives and injured several commuters waiting at the bus stop.
