As the race for Lagos governorship hots up, a support group for All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate in the state, Babajide Sanwoolu, has launched a 3 million vote campaign in support of his aspiration.
Addressing a news briefing at the Excellence Hotel & Conference Centre in Ogba area of Lagos, the Babajide Olusola Sanwoolu Ambassadors (BOSA) Director-General, Comrade Wale Arogundade said the campaign had become necessary in order to ensure an overwhelming and unprecedented victory for the APC governorship hopeful in the forth-coming election.
Comrade Arogundade disclosed that the group had already commenced a house-to-house mobilisation of voters, visiting every street, marketplace, mosque, the creeks and waterside to speak to Lagosians and win their support for Sanwoolu.
With a voters’ figure of 6.2m in Lagos State, the BOSA director-general argued that securing 3m votes for Sanwoolu should not be a difficult task, urging all Lagosians to join the group in realising its aim.
Comrade Arogundade explained that the group had set up structures in all the local governments, wards and zones across the state as part of its strategy to accomplish its dream.
He expressed the confidence that Sanwoolu would perform well in office as governor having been in the system and functioned in different government departments and agencies.
In his goodwill message, the state Commissioner for Special Duty and Intergovernmental Relations, Seye Oladejo pointed out that securing 3m votes was in line with the charge of the APC National Leader, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu to members of the party earlier in Lagos.
Speaking through Godwin Benjamin, Oladejo admonished party members to bury their differences and work for the success of the party at the polls.
The conference was graced by many group members and leaders including Alhaji Hassan Ajeigbe (AMJE), BOSA state leader and Mukaila Togunsa.
