The Chairman of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ogun State, Chief Derin Adebiyi, has described the dissolution of the party’s Executive Committees in the state, Local Government and ward levels, by the National Working Committee (NWC) of the party, as null and void.
Addressing party faithful at the party’s state secretariat in Abeokuta yesterday, he said the EXCOs at all levels are intact.
“It is only party members in the state, who voted in the executive members that can dissolve the Exco”, he said, adding that, “we are APC and we remain APC.”
Adebiyi reiterated the party’s commitment to the re-election of President Muhammadu Buhari as well as the election of Governor Ibikunle Amosun into the Ogun Central Senatorial seat and Senator Lekan Mustapha into the Ogun East Senatorial seat.
Amosun, in his address, admonished the APC party members to shun violence, be focussed, peaceful and ready to answer the detractors with their votes
He enjoined them to be united and work in harmony, assuring that “the 2019 election will be in our favour.”
The governor revealed that he would start his senatorial campaign on Thursday, December 27, 2018 and that vehicles for campaign will be distributed to all 20 Local Government Areas, in support of Buhari’s campaign.
While receiving the flag and the letter of the Allied Peoples Movement (APM) in the state, for the adoption of Buhari as the party’s candidate, Amosun assured that he wound deliver it to the president.
Speaking on behalf of the APM in Ogun State, the Director General of the Adekunle Akinlade Campaign Committe, Alhaji Sarafa Tunji Ishola, said the party has unanimously agreed to adopt Buhari as well as Amosun, as candidates for President and Ogun Central Senatorial seat respectively.
