Ogun 2019: N.2b disbursed for APM launch

Over N200 million was allegedly disbursed for mobilisation alone for today’s launch of the Allied Peoples Movement APM,the alternative political platform floated by supporters of incumbent Governor Ibikunle Amosun now going on at the M K O Abiola stadium in Abeokuta the Ogun State capital.

The launch which was to present all the candidates of the party in the forthcoming election to the public drew a large crowd from across the State.
The money for the mobilisation was said to have been disbursed at the Igbore home of a chieftain of the party who is also said to be a very close alky of incumbent governor and the arrowhead of the All Progressive Congress APM in the state.
Informed sources said 15 thousand was released to each of the 3,426 polling units in the state to hire buses amounting to N 49.89 million.


Also released to each of the 236 wards was said to be the sum of 500 thousand amounting to N118 million.
The sources explained that N28 million was released for security while N5 million was released to some APC chieftains to mobilise for the new party.
The APC chieftains were said to have been told not to attend the launch and continue to insist that the were bonafide members of APC.

Following the mobilisation, vehicles were hired from across the state, Oyo and Lagos states to bring people to the stadium.
Vehicular movement in front of the Stadium became difficult as vehicles were parked on both sides of the road and on the fly over.
Security agents had an herculean task to control the traffic so as to pave way for those passing through the ever busy road.
