Security operatives take over National Assembly

Security Operatives have taken over the entrance of the National Assembly preventing striking Parliamentary staff from gaining access to the premises.

The leadership of the National Assembly late yeaterday night mandated the Security agencies to beef up security around the National Assembly.

In response to the directives from the leadership of the National Assembly, Policemen and Civil Defence were seen at the strategic places of the parliament building this morning: Some of the responsibilities of the National Assembly workers have been taken over by security operatives stationed in the premises of the National Assembly.

As at the time of filing this report, plans are afoot by the leadership of the national assembly to hold plenary session today.
