Vice Presidential Candidate Debate: How Peter Obi lied on facts and figures

The Vice Presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) ,Mr Peter Obi on Friday lied on facts and figures in the just concluded Presidential debate among five political parties.

During the debate on whether to remove subsidy or not, the PDP Vice Presidential candidate said that there were two million vehicles in Nigeria.

But, record from Nigeria Bureau of Statics(NBS), revealed that as at the third quarter of 2017, Nigeria had about 11,547,236 motor vehicles in the country.

About 4,656,725 of these vehicles are privately owned while, 6,749,461 vehicles are registered as commercial vehicles. Another 135,216 vehicles are registered as government owned vehicles while 5,834 vehicles are registered for diplomats.

Also claim by Obi that total loans from the banks in Nigeria is N19trn and only 0.5% goes to SMEs could not be verified.

In addition claim by Vice Presidential candidate of PDP that African trade today is less than 9 percent when it is crosschecked the Intra-Africa Trade is 16 percent.

Furthermore, submission by the former governor of Anambra state that Oil give you 80% of foreign exchange earnings is False according to CBN.
