Former Governor of Lagos State and Minister of Power, Works and Housing, Mr. Babatunde Fashola has enjoined Nigerians to vote for President Buhari in the 2019 Presidential election.

Fashola who was the convener and chief mobilizer of 5000 foot soldiers for Lagos segment of 2019 Buhari presidential campaign at a rally held tuesday at The Haven Event centre of Archbishop Vining Cathedral, Ikeja, Lagos addressed the mammoth crowd gathered for the occasion, giving them reasons Buhari is the only option for 2019.
The former Governor told the crowd that the Buhari-led Federal Government has done more with less and is not a go-slow President some Nigerians have been erroneously saying. According to him, Nigeria has never seen a government that invested in massive infrastructural development with little fund available.

According to him, “The total number of roads completed was 277 km in 2017, it became 488km. In 2018 it is already 497km and I have told you about the Sukuk Investment and the take ready policy for more roads and the Infrastructure Development Fund,” he said.
Continuing, Fashola asked if Nigeria wants to return to the era of 80km of roads per year or move on to the next level with Buhari. He argued further that, Buhari is not slow and his track record is superior. “Buhari is not slow, his results are quicker, faster and more superior!” He said.
Going into records, the Minister of Works at the rally talked about several development Buhari government has brought to Nigeria. “in Lagos, we chose the University of Lagos as one of the universities we are working with. We picked the university to work with and develop. What we are trying to do is to ensure that no matter how little it is, we pick one place to benefit per zone so that they won’t say the money is in one side.
“When we took Sukuk, they said oh Buhari wants to Islamise Nigeria with Sukuk but when we shared the money equally, N16b per zone did not Islamise anybody. We also took up internal roads in 14 federal universities for development,” he explained.

Continuing, Fashola said, “In the South West, who is benefiting from the roads? UCH, Ibadan is benefiting, all the details are available. So when they also tell you there is no investment in education, it is a lie, education development is not only in salaries but infrastructure. It will happen, but it will take more than four years,” he told the cheering crowd.
On housing, Fashola explained that, “When I got there, people who have paid for land, people who have bought houses you know all those federal government property they monitised, they didn’t give people title documents.

“I have issued 1,216 papers and signed 1,300 CofOs and there are more to go. For people who have bought houses 16 years ago, no title. Do you remember our coach in Atlanta Olympics? Bonfere Jo. The house they gave him was not released to him. They didn’t give him papers and he didn’t even see the house. It is Buhari that just gave him the house. It is not just building houses but solving housing problems,” he said.
Talking about the importance of title deed, Fashola said, “When you have title deed, if you are a farmer or you are a business man, you can use the title document to get a loan and go on with your life that is your legitimate business and that is what Buhari is supporting.
“This election is a choice between going back and moving forward to the next level. It is also a choice as to who is to trust with your money. Who has done more with more with less? It is between those who give you 15 roads in a year and those who is giving you 40 roads in a year, who is doing more with less, is it those who gave 80km in 2015 and those who have given you 497km in 2018? Is it those who are giving you 250mw per year in 16 years and those giving you 1,000mw per year over three years who should you trust with your resources? He asked.
