Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has confirmed Dapo Abiodun as governorship candidate of All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ogun State, despite the incumbent Governor, Ibikunle Amosun to replace him with Isaq Akinlade.
Amosun had mounted pressure on President Muhammadu Buhari to direct the National Chairman of ruling APC, Adams Oshiomhole to replace Dapo Abiodun.
INEC however in the list has recognised Dapo Abiodun as the governorship candidate in the party.
This development is happening just as in the opposition Peoples Democratic Party, Ladi Adebutu was replaced with Shitu as the party’s candidate.
According to the list, Lawal Shitu will fly the governorship ticket of PDP in the state while Reuben Abati will be his running mate.
